Obsession Over

Read at your own risk...Crazy woman's ramblings about paint color to follow...

I am embarrassed to admit this, but it's true. Lately I have been obsessed with finding the perfect paint color for all together too many rooms in our house.

A sane person would probably stick to one room at a time. Not me. Apparently, the way I operate is that any room color that has bothered me at any time in the past needs to be figured out right now. So that would be the kitchen, family room, stairwell, playroom, and master bedroom. Because, you know, I have all the time in the world on my hands. A husband, 4 kids and a puppy? Piece of cake. I'm twiddling my thumbs. Obviously I need something to occupy my time.

So...In order to find just the right hue, I have many, MANY colors of paint on my walls. And I have a husband that I have driven insane. It is completely understandable that he is in that state. He has had to listen to me discuss the subtle nuances between warm and cool undertones, as well as how different amounts and kinds of light can impact a color. He's heard me complain about colors having too green of an undertone, looking too "peachy" at night, turning too orange in the evening, and graying out. He's probably even been concerned at times that if he stays too still, I might paint him too.

BUT, here's the good news for him. My paint obsession is over. I've chosen the colors, and I've bought the paint. Done. And just because I don't want to leave you hanging, and I want you to be able to sleep tonight...The colors are Benjamin Moore, Putnam Ivory in the bedroom, Revere Pewter in the bathroom and Crisp Khaki everywhere else. Here they are...the chosen colors (although Putnam Ivory doesn't look quite right here)...drum roll please...

It seems crazy, but I feel so good to have gotten that done, to feel good about my choices, to know that I'll like the colors that will go on the walls. I am not proud of how much time and effort I put into finding those colors, but I will be happy with the results. The right colors make such a big difference. I can't wait to see it all done, and to post pictures of it. Now if someone would just do the painting for me. Oh, yes, I forgot, I am twiddling my thumbs. I obviously need something to do.

Oh. My. Word. Enough about this boring topic. I promise you that I will never blog about choosing paint colors ever again. Aren't you glad that you checked in with me today? You wouldn't want to miss this post. :)

No! I like to hear people's obsessions over things like this! Makes me feel at home! ;)

I NEED to paint in my house too...however, I am just.like.you. and after moving this summer, fretting over not being decorated for fall, and with Christmas coming up, I'll have no stomach lining left if I stress over paint too...so I just try to close my eyes to it ;) In the spring though...you may see a blog that resembles this.... ;)
