Robbie Fest

Oh, the memories made at my sweet nephew Robbie's birthday party...and I was so tired from taking part in them that I fell asleep with the kids when I was putting them down and spent half of the night sleeping on Evan's floor. :) When I woke up at about 1:30 AM, I couldn't NOT take a peek at the pictures I took. All 248 of them. I kid you not. And then because I'm a little crazy, I had to edit them right then and there. And post them. That's the way I roll.

It was such a fun day! Every year, my sister and brother-in-law invite family over to celebrate Robbie's birthday and play in the leaves. This year was perfect...beautiful, sunny, crisp fall weather...
many, MANY leaves to enjoy...
and throw at your brother...

Portraits of these cute kids were taken...

There was swinging...
monkeying around...(Guess who was the biggest monkey? That's right, Uncle Bill!)...

When the birthday boy woke up from his nap, he had a lot to take in. Who invaded his leaf pile?

However, he quickly joined in the fun!

Look at this sweet 3 year old! :)

It was then time to bury a certain uncle in the leaves...
Going...
going...
GONE!!
And then Uncle Jim finished him off with the help of the leaf blower...
Are you ok in there, Uncle Bill?

Here they are in action:

Look at this tangle of body parts in this leaf pile...Seth's foot, Uncle Bill's arm, and Evan's laughing face! :)

Evan enjoyed a quiet moment with Uncle Bill...

but not for long. He was tossed...

and turned upside down...

Get him, Evan!

Here's Robbie taking a running leap into the leaves...
So CUTE!
And then there was a little "mommy and me" time in the leaves...awww!

Mr. Three-Year-Old

Look at that happy smile!

Then Robbie and his cousin, Evan, ganged up on my poor sister...

but Robbie quickly made up for it with a big hug...

and a passionate kiss! ;)

Then it was time to bag the leaves...

Everyone helped. Many hands make light work!
Robbie grabbed his cousins to play a little balloon ball...

and then posed for this great picture with Uncle Bill!

We went inside to check out the sweet decorations my sister made,

and the beautiful cupcakes!

My brother-in-law, Jim, made a delicious dinner of barbecued ribs, or chicken and chocolate sauce, as Evan called it :), and then I interviewed Robbie about his PAR-TEEE! (Here's a clip!)

Then it was time to sing "Happy Birthday!"

Here's a clip of the big moment...

Yummmmm...banana cake...I mean, yummmmm banana cake frosting...

This year Robbie ate his cake with his fingers...

as well as his tongue (his preferred method from last year)...

He's a cake-licker. ;)

Then it was time to open presents...

He played with each one as he opened them...so sweet! Here he is opening presents with his mommy...

and on his own...Big Boy!

And then the grand finale...

a Thomas train set!

Happy Birthday, Robbie! xoxoxoxoxo, Aunt Sarah

Awww! How sweet! I love the idea of tying in a "work" party with a birthday party ;)
