A Big Day

It was quite a day yesterday. It started around 3:30 AM for me. Although I am doing well as far as getting ready for Christmas, I still woke up early with my mind racing and had trouble falling back to sleep. I tend to be a little "Type A", so this happens sometimes. :) One of my sisters who struggles with insomnia too puts a positive spin on it...she says it's just God's way of giving you some extra time to get stuff done. So thinking of that, I decided to clean my closet. Yes. At 3:30 in the morning. Sounds like a completely reasonable thing to do, right?! (And if you were wondering, it looks great!) ;)

When the kids woke up, Dave and I made them a good hot breakfast and then dropped them off at school. Then Evan and I did a little Christmas shopping and made treats for Caroline's class party. In the afternoon, Dave went to Seth's party. (Doesn't Seth make a handsome Santa?) Seth was so excited to have his dad in class with him. Dave led Bingo for the class, and Seth won a round. YAY!
Evan and I headed over to Caroline's class for her party. Aren't they cute? (Caroline is the pretty girl in the back row with the green dress and red Santa hat.)
These are the treat bags that Evan and I made. The school required that the kids have a healthy snack, so we fill these bags with healthy goodies such as unbuttered popcorn, yogurt covered raisins, craisins (dried cranberries) and banana chips. Then we cheated a little by adding a few red and green
M&Ms. :) They were a hit!
Here's my little helper elf, Evan, enjoying what he helped to make.
Here's Caroline and her friend, Emily, making snowflake ornaments...
and enjoying their snack.

It was such a fun day, ending with the kids and me falling asleep by 8:30 PM, and STAYING asleep until 7:00 AM. We needed that! HA!
