A BIG Dental Day

Today was the big day! Our family of 6 converged on my father-in-law's dental office for our check-ups. This was Evan's first time to have a dental check-up, so we were wondering how he would handle it. Maybe it was because his Grandpa is his dentist, or maybe it was because he felt like one of the big kids, but this young man LOVED it!!
Grandpa and the dental hygenist were so good with Evan, explaining exactly what they were doing, even giving him a mirror so he could watch if he wanted to. And at the end of the check-up, Evan had a big, clean smile on his face. :)

Something else that made all of us smile was that they all had NO CAVITIES!!
Speaking of smiles, check out this one...
Did you notice anything missing in this sweet smile? Here's a clearer shot:

Yes! Caroline lost her VERY FIRST TOOTH! Her tooth had been very wobbly, so she decided to ask Grandpa to have the honor of pulling it for her.

Tonight, Caroline's tooth is safely tucked into a pillow that she made when she was in preschool. Ohhhhh, the excitement! The tooth fairy is coming to visit HER tonight! :)

How cute! I remember the days when I was so scared of dentist. But my mother assured me of nothing bad will happen. Just a simple memory of West Columbia – Dental check-ups then was hard for us kids. But now, I even had undergone 2 surgeries for dental implants! Lexington Smith, a dentist friend of mine did the operation.

Smile kids! Nothing to worry about!
