Sitting on our hands...

Henry's fifth grade teacher assigned a big two-part project, and specifically said that it was to be entirely done by the child. Parental guidance was allowed, but no direct parent help.

Do you understand what a difficult request that is?!! For projects Henry has done in the lower grades, the child and his parents could work together. Putting the project entirely in Henry's hands is taking all of the self-control we can muster. :)

Dave has mostly overseen Henry's project, and I have to say that I've been pleasantly surprised by their progress. He's helped to keep Henry on task, seen when Henry needs to take a break, and the almost-finished result is something that Henry can be really proud of! He's made a board game with explorers as his theme.

Looking forward to trying it out tomorrow, Henry!

haha! I am glad to see you are controlling yourself! It's hard to watch them grow up!
