September is tough.

Who am I kidding?! I probably could say that about any month of the year. :) I don't think that you will ever catch me saying, "Now (insert the name of a month), that is an easy one." Nope. It's probably not going to happen.

However, September brings its own challenges. With school just starting, there's new teachers and classrooms to figure out. There's homework for three kids to supervise, including projects for the older two. There's reading, practicing math facts and spelling words. There's the mountains of papers that come home from school that need to be gone through.

Two of our children were born in September. So, we've got some parties to plan. We are having the family party next weekend, and are having the friend parties at the beginning of October.

With the kids in school, it gives me a little more time to get the regular cleaning, cooking and laundry done, but it also makes me feel that the projects that have been on our to-do list should be tackled. Today I weeded and cut back some plants for the fall. I filled two garbage cans! I've deep-cleaned the kids' rooms and closets. Their closets now only store clothes that fit them, and that is a very good thing. Then, there's the ever-present on-going basement work to do. (I do feel we've rounded the corner with that one. I can now envision the day when we'll be done. :) It is coming along nicely.)

With all that we have going on, we decided to sit out the next session of swimming lessons. Hopefully when we get adjusting to school under our belt, we'll be able to start up again. Scouts and CCD haven't started yet, but those activities are just around the corner. The only activity that we have going on right now is Caroline's soccer. And that is a very good thing, because anything else would be too much.

Really, September is tough. But I do think that along with how challenging September is, meeting those challenges brings along a big sense of accomplishment. We are rising to the occasion. But rising to the occasion is exhausting, so I'm going to bed. :) Good night!

Ugh! YES! I know what you mean. We have : School, "C"'s Football, and lest Bee feel like we aren't doing enough, we've added severl games onto the end of his season, and yes, that's right, Flag football for him too. Can you tell we like football? Plus, there is meetings for football next year, all star games, owners meetings, Little man wants to start hockey, so that's going to be beggining soon, and "C's" birthday and my mom's are in the same week. No where near as scary as June though....I shudder everytime June rolls around... lol!
