(If you start singing about green, speckled frogs, you, like me, have been listening to WAY too much Raffi.)
The weather was hot for our holiday weekend, staying pretty much in the 90s. Moxie didn't like it one bit, searching for and resting in every bit of shade when we went on our walks. She demonstrated for us how dogs cool their bodies down through panting. Caroline tried it, but decided that it didn't work as well for her...
Moxie also contemplated cooling off in the lake. This is as far as she got. She is not so sure about water yet, much to the kids' chagrin. They all wanted to swim with her.
The kids swam, tubed and skiied both days. BIG NEWS: Henry got up and stayed up on his skis for about 20 seconds! And Caroline tried to ski for the first time! Seth prefers to tube. :)
At night, we watched fireworks over the lake. It was beautiful! Then Dave and his brother, Mark, set off some fireworks of their own.
The kids loved it...unfortunately, this picture doesn't do our fireworks justice! :)
Evan was especially loving it. ;)
Here's Evan and his cousin (my sweet God Daughter), Nadia, snuggling after the fireworks.
My brother, Bill, spent the day with us on the 4th. Here's Seth and Bill contemplating their first tubing of the day...

This looks like a pretty tame ride...
Not so much this one...
I had to remind the driver of the boat (my husband) several times that he should be careful with our son and my brother.
Bill didn't seem to mind Dave's driving.
I did. ;) It was hard for me to watch this. It will probably be hard for you to watch this too, especially if you are prone to motion sickness. ;) (Really, Dave is an excellent boat driver and Bill and Seth are excellent tubers. They were safe.)
Don't you love Nadia's trash-talking at the end? ;)
Happy 4th everyone! (Or maybe I should say, "Happy 6th!" at this point.)
