In Caroline's Religious Education class, they've been talking about the Ten Commandments and sin. I can tell that Caroline is really processing this information because at home she has been talking about it a lot and asking many questions. Caroline came home to tell me that she had a conversation with one of her friends about the Third Commandment, which is "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord, thy God, in vain." This particular friend says "Oh my G--!" often, and Caroline was apparently worried about it. Caroline shared her worry with her friend, and suggested an alternative phrase for her to use...
"Oh my HAMSTER!"
or
"Oh my BANANA!"
or
"Oh my TOOTHBRUSH!"
Caroline said that her friend loved the new phrases, that they were both laughing a lot, and that her friend didn't break the Third Commandment all afternoon. :) Sweet Caroline!
