Dishes, laundry, decluttering, organizing, planning...we did fit in some fun stuff too, but we did a lot around the house this weekend. The kids did their chores, and then the extra weekend jobs too. We need their help. If Dave and I ever try to run this household without the kids working along with us, the house falls apart.
So, along those lines, what are we to do with the family member that creates the biggest messes, and does not quite pull his weight enough in terms of chores in our house? (Ask me about the stick of butter he spread on the couch today. Nice.) Well, we are trying to have him work alongside of us, giving him little jobs here and there. And even when the job he is doing is not truly "helping" in the strictest sense of the word, at least he thinks he is, right?!
As an example, here's Evan "helping" to wash dishes. The dishes started out clean, and after Evan cleaned them for about 45 minutes, they must have been even cleaner. He had a good time. What a helper!
Aw, who am I kidding? He's just playing in the water at the sink. The poor kid...he's trying to play (and make another mess), and his mom keeps pestering him with the camera. ;)
